Don’t worry; I am here to guide you about affiliate marketing.

What is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a revenue-sharing and generating business model that helps both sides.

Let’s know the structure of affiliate marketing (in general).

  • First-party – manufacturer
  • Second party – affiliate network
  • Third-party – blogger/content creator
  • Fourth party – customer/consumer

Manufacturers manufacture a product (or service) and register in an affiliate network. Bloggers and content creators target those affiliate networks and produce content for their audience.

Do you know why manufacturers target affiliate marketing (or networks)?

Simply because of various sales methods along with colossal business potentiality indicates its prospects.

Hurdles of Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is not new; it is one of the most competitive now. Eventually, many bloggers target affiliate marketing as their bread and butter.

However, surprisingly, only 5% of them are successful.

Do you know why?

Let’s dive in.

I’ve observed these 5 points for the failure in affiliate marketing.

  1. Wrong niche selection
  2. Competitive product selection
  3. Improper knowledge
  4. Irrelevant link building
  5. Over-optimization

Don’t be frustrated.

If you overcome these hurdles, you’ll win the battle.

Even if you are a newbie or a professional blogger, this will significantly help you.

I am here to guide you on why you should target affiliate marketing and earn online

Opportunities of Revenue Sharing Model

Every day revenue sharing business models are getting more challenging for many reasons.

One of them is over-competition.

Do you know how many of your competitors are doing the same practice?

Almost 35%.

Can you imagine the opportunities are endless?

You’ll be a successful affiliate marketer if you make the right strategy.

Follow these seven factors before starting your affiliate journey.

  1. Find a niche that you love
  2. Make a list of the top 50 in that niche
  3. Create your strategy understanding the above
  4. Prepare content calendar
  5. Do effective keyword research with KGR (Keyword Golden Ratio) formula
  6. Create content calendar
  7. Produce valuable content by maintaining the following (first few months):
    1. Informative (70%)
    2. Product review (20%)
    3. Comparison (10%)
  8. Create social media accounts/pages, mostly in
    1. Instagram
    2. Facebook Page
    3. Pinterest (most underrated but effective)
    4. YouTube (both short and long)
    5. Twitter (now X)
    6. TikTok (not in India)
  9. Use video (YouTube)

Why Publishers Should Target Affiliate Marketing

Do you know 84% of publishers target affiliate marketing?

I have found some reasons behind that. Three significant reasons for these are:

  • Easily reach the target market
  • Low investment cost
  • Profit no bar

Even many newbies also earn a good amount from affiliate marketing.

Another reason to choose affiliate marketing is it is a long-time career.

You have seen many so-called Youtubers promote themselves with many guides, product reviews and more.

Like YouTube, many so-called bloggers (publishers/website owners) offer various courses and work as influencers.

These are the result of a successful affiliate marketing career.

Exposure to holding a good amount every month motivates publishers to choose a revenue-sharing business model.

Affiliate business models help everyone who is associated with them.

So, it becomes an interactive business model that delivers value to real people.

How to start Affiliate Marketing that Returns you

Now I am in your favourite stage of this content, where you will get motivated to start your affiliate marketing career.

In 2023 and beyond, making a good amount from the revenue-sharing marketing model takes a lot of work.

Do you know why?

Avoid these seven unknown mistakes (almost 99% of beginners do the same)

Pick Only the Right Niche

Niche is the most important in affiliate journeys. Choosing the right niche, is your ‘half job done’ strategy. However, in most cases, people choose the wrong and competitive niches.

Competitive (I say wrong) niches take time and deliver fewer results than expected.

Don’t worry; I am here to guide you through the right strategies to conquer your goal.

Choose Micro Niche

A micro niche is more potential and powerful than any traditional niche. If you have the right skill, you can find the hidden treasure.

Now, the question is, how to choose the correct micro niche?

Follow these valuable steps. (For better understanding, I use gadgets)

  • Know your broad niche (e.g. Headphones)
  • Make a list of subtopics/categories/subsections (e.g. neckbands)
  • Do advanced keyword research and keyword gap analysis
  • Create 100% valuable content, embed links (affiliate), and publish
  • Do SEO for organic traffic (focus 75% on organic traffic)
  • Use both Social Media Marketing and Content Marketing to outreach content to the right audience.

Do all the above with any niche. Suppose your niche is travel. Your micro niche may be ‘hotel booking’ (hotels affiliate) or ‘travel gears’ (amazon associates)

If your niche is website design and development, you can pick ‘’WordPress themes’ or ‘WordPress plugins.’

If your niche is ‘home decor’, you can pick ‘dining table’ as your micro niche.

There is a trillion. So finding a niche is relatively easy.

If you have any queries, comment below. I shall communicate with you regarding your query.

Grab the ideal Content Type.

The content type is very crucial. Almost 67% of newbies make common mistakes here.

I have a stunning solution for you.

Start an affiliate career with YouTube.

Whatever your product you promote, video is the most engaging content type.

People love watching videos instead of reading an article (yes, I’ve experienced it).

On the other hand, if you review any product or service yourself, a high chance is to increase your brand value.

Surprisingly, YouTube is free. It is another advantage of creating a stunning career.

I rank the content types you must focus on if you want to target affiliate marketing as your career (full-time).

  1. Video content (mainly YouTube)
  2. Short video (Instagram/YT shorts/FB Reels/TikTok)
  3. Written content (blog post/article)
  4. Image and infographics (graphical content)
  5. Podcasts

A successful affiliate marketer must have all of the above. But as a newbie, you can start using YouTube.

Make Attractive Content

Whatever content type you pick, you have to make attractive content. While you target affiliate marketing, follow these contents that you must create.

For video content

  1. Product review (for video around 10 min)
  2. Product comparison (for video around 8 min)
  3. Product pros and cons (for video around 5 min)
  4. Unboxing (underrated famous for YouTube) (around 7 min)
  5. A regular short video about all of the above.

For written content

  1. Listicle contents like ‘top 10’ (around 3500 words)
  2. Buying guide (around 3000 words)
  3. Product review including pros and cons (around 5000 words)
  4. Comparison between products (around 3000 words)

For graphical content

  1. Buying guide (infographics) using only valuable aspects
  2. Pros and cons (infographics)
  3. Individual features, e.g. colour, size, price, etc. (image, better motion graphics)

For podcasts

  1. Pros and cons
  2. Buying guide
  3. Special features

For short video

  1. Single features
  2. Colour
  3. Price
  4. Special features
  5. Pros
  6. Cons

The content is almost the same if your niche is related to service.

Schedule Publish and Periodical Promote

Schedule publishing and periodical promoting your content is crucial while you target affiliate marketing.

I mean, don’t publish your main content every day.

Many people suggest that you publish your content regularly.

Though regular means not daily.

I’ll suggest that you make regular short videos and publish them. It is wonderful.

But create your most valuable long blog posts, articles, or even long videos thrice a week.

I recommend you use the following. (Though the choice is yours)

Publish video content (long form) every alternate day (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)

Publish written content following the same just days are different (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday)

It helps you to balance and be productive.

Only post on your social media pages/accounts/feeds daily (2 contents/day recommended).

Let’s come to the promotion section.

I always ask you to focus on content marketing and SEO if you target good affiliate marketing growth organic.

Balance your social media promotions (organic) and advertisement (paid).

From day 1, collect email addresses and start email marketing.
